RHODES FARM, DINNINUP
The design intent was to create a contemporary, immersive garden that serves as a working example of ecological and aesthetic coexistence in a demanding rural setting. We aimed to demonstrate that even in large-scale, commercial environments—with poor soils, high exposure, and limited water—landscapes can be both visually striking and ecologically functional.
This project draws on the farm’s broader sustainability ethos and translates it into a tangible, experiential landscape that staff, visitors and stakeholders interact with daily.
RURAL LANDSCAPE
We wanted to shift the perception of what a rural corporate garden could be—from utilitarian or purely decorative, to something layered, generous and quietly radical. The planting scheme is composed of resilient species that not only reflect the regional landscape character but also provide seasonal change, biodiversity support, and textural contrast against the architectural forms and terraced site.
This momentous project was awarded a Gold for Commercial Plantscape and the Allan Correy Award for Design Excellence in 2025 at the LDI Awards.
